Matt,

Really good looking project! I'll be happy to see a multifamily project built to the PH Standard in the Pacific Northwest.

When the envelope requirements need to be discussed, please feel free to contact us. Two potential envelope components are the Swiss Air Sealing products from SIGA and the Optiwin Window (the first Window to be certified as PH compliant by PHI).

Also... I don't think it's public knowledge yet, but Gunter Lang from IG Passvhaus Austria will be in both Seattle and Portland this September under the auspices of Passive House Northwest. While under Gunter Lang's direction as CEO, IG Passivhaus Austria has reached what I believe to be the highest density of PH Projects in the world. While in Seattle, Dr Lang will be the keynote of Passive House Northwest's Fall conference that is targeting large scale multifamily and commercial projects.

Cheers!

Will R-5 triple glazed windows satisfy the PH standard, or to they have to be even better than that. DOE has a window volume purchase program that lowers the cost of R-5 windows to $4/sf above typical R-3 windows. Will this type of window (R-5) work for a passive house?
