LAW BARN Design, 2003 A new commercial building in downtown Edmonds for an attorney forms a south facing courtyard with the existing house. The lower volume contains the reception area and partner’s office, and the second volume is a loft like working environment, kitchen and conference room, with parking underneath off an alley. The Law Barn has a series of wood screen barn doors to provide night time security, to obscure views of the neighboring commercial buildings and modulate the solar exposure. |
