CARMICHEAL RESIDENCE Design of Addition, 2008 The original, nondescript builder house was disconnected from its site and had a series of isolated living spaces. By extending the kitchen and dining room, and adding an enlarged family room and master bedroom, we created a focal courtyard garden around which the primary living spaces are located. The design breaks down the boundaries between rooms and between the house and the landscape, in order to bring the experience of nature into the house. |
