NORTH SEATTLE RESIDENCE Design of Addition/Renovation 2005-06 This live-work project updated an existing residence in North Seattle and added an acoustically isolated voice studio with a separate client entrance. A two foot change in elevation between the private and public functions of the house help define the home and work spaces, without disrupting the inviting domestic environment students and client had come to enjoy. The new vaulted studio space is day-lit with a bank of north facing skylights. An open waiting room is screened by cabinetry from the living spaces of the house. The renovated kitchen opens to a covered ipe deck with built-in bench and eating nook. |
