QUEEN ANNE RESIDENCE
Design, 1999
This new residence for a couple with one child is located in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood. Using the foundation of the existing structure, the house repeats the traditional relationships to the street, while articulating the clients’ identities within the heterogeneity of the context. A courtyard garden acts as a transparent threshold between the formal and informal functions, bringing the landscape into the center of the house.
