Causey’s Learning Center

COMMUNITY — EDUCATION DESIGN — early learning

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

Causey’s Learning Center (CLC) is a non-profit early childhood education provider founded in 1970. They maintain two locations in Seattle’s Central District and are a registered provider for ECEAP and the Seattle Preschool Program. Spanning more than a decade, CAST has completed 12 separate projects for Causey’s, ranging from small works to the renovation of the Main Site classroom building (the first project funded through the City's Preschool For All bond measure), to a feasibility study for major site redevelopment.

CLC is pursuing funding through the Department of Commerce Early Learning Facilities grant program to construct a major new expansion in Renton. This area has been identified by DCYF as an "extreme childcare desert" with only 30% of lower-income families able to find childcare that meets their needs. CAST is supporting this effort by working with CLC's real estate team to identify viable properties and producing a feasibility study and preliminary design. If funded, CLC South will provide 120 new preschool slots starting in the fall of 2025.
