FAMILY HOME RENOVATION & ADDITION — SEATTLE MODERN ARCHITECTURE — home DESIGN — GREEN BUILDING

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

A serene and modern oasis on a small urban lot, the Ashworth House is a contemporary design renovation and second-story addition over a cottage originally constructed in 1912.  The goals were to increase the amount of natural light and to give the living spaces more height and airiness. The exposed ceiling beams help define zones within the loft-style main floor, and an expansive kitchen serves as the heart of the home for a family who loves to cook.

The kitchen is a focal point of the home with a single-slab quartz countertop, stainless steel prep area, and built-in nooks. Large glass doors connect the kitchen to the outdoor living space.

The primary spa-like bath features Ipe flooring, and an in-shower bathtub with a combination of colorful subway tiles and unique hexagon star tiles to create a modern environment.
