GARDEN 4 BEDROOM
missing middle housing — urban infill — sustainable design
The Garden 4 Bedroom model is a 1,406 square foot, four-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home with a one-car garage. Designed to maximize light and space, it includes outdoor areas such as a covered porch, a private ground-level courtyard, and a second-floor walk-out terrace, making it feel larger than its compact footprint suggests.
Its 20-foot width ensures more daylight in every room and facilitates high-density development up to 28 units per acre on 50' or 75' wide lots.
The design is highly adaptable; it can be mirrored or flipped. The home’s modules are based on a twenty-foot length, aiding maneuverability on tight urban sites. It uses wet mods to concentrate plumbing and through-wall energy-recovery ventilators to improve efficiency.
The modular-friendly construction combines off-site technologies: panelized ground floor walls and volumetric modules for the upper levels that unfold to their full size. A key variation is an interchangeable two-foot front slice, allowing custom siding and window configurations without affecting the rest of the design. Stormwater management is pre-engineered with modular bioretention planters.
