Simple geometry provides a strong presence from the curb of this Issaquah home. The house wraps around a courtyard that allows northern light to enter the core stair hall and blurs the line between indoor and outdoor. Inside, honest materials express beauty and function. Fir and maple, stone, and the owner’s art collection create a serene presence.

Radiant heating and passive ventilation, efficient appliances, no lawn or irrigation system, and permeable paving were among the elements that fit this home into a community of green homes.
