Will is a designer whose work emphasizes the relationship between architectural interiors and the surrounding landscape. He began his career designing multifamily housing in his native Chicago before a growing interest in urban farming led him to a landscape architecture practice, where he gained experience in riverfront remediation, green roofs, and civic parks.
Drawn to the Pacific Northwest for its extended outdoor seasons and its seamless blend of rugged landscapes and built environments, Will continues to pursue design that connects people to place. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Illinois and dual master’s degrees in Architecture and Landscape Architecture from the University of Washington.
His master's thesis "Clayscapes"—examining the connection between common brick and the landscape stories embedded in its clay—earned him a six-month post-graduate travel fellowship in Denmark, an experience that heavily influenced his design perspective. Outside the studio, Will can often be found hiking among, sketching beside, and ogling at the awe-inspiring trees of the Puget Sound.
