SPOKANE SIX
MULTIFAMILY HOUSING — MIDDLE HOUSING — SIX-PLEX — PNW ARCHITECTURE
SPOKANE, Washington
The Spokane Six is one of the first new examples of a stacked flat middle housing project being developed in an established residential neighborhood.
The building is six 1000 sq.ft. 2 bedroom 2 bath apartments organized around a single stair. Each unit has access to light and air on three sides with an eight foot deep porch on the street front. As a compact rectangle, it leans into conventional framing, with a slab-on-grade foundation and trussed roof—all of which contribute to a low cost per square foot. It features extra attic insulation to minimize heat loss, resulting in significant energy savings over the building's lifespan.
Two of the units are rent-restricted workforce housing.
Homes feature:
Ample windows in bedrooms and living spaces for daylight and ventilation
Room-sized private porches
High-efficiency building systems with heat pump heating/cooling
Enhanced indoor air quality
Energy Star Appliances and in-unit Laundry
6 Parking spaces and EV Charging
Building materials with low volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and high recycled content
Landscape design featuring drought-tolerant native plants
